Artist in the Community Scheme Wexford County Council

Cant wait to start two projects under Wexford County Council's Artist in Community Scheme!

Taghmon Men's Shed have asked me to work with them on a series of paintings depicting local folklore and heritage sites ..

Not sure how many palaces they have in Taghmon but we'll be working somewhat like this image below, by carving into the paint with lino cutting tools and using washes and glazes to make our images...

I'll  also be working with some of the service-users at St Aidan's Centre in Gorey to produce an experiential installation which will span across a range of tactile and sensory materials.

Thank you to Wexford County Council and Arts Officer, Liz Burns and the arts office staff for their support.

Living Art Project 2014

I was delighted to have worked with Wexford Arts Centre on the Living Art Project 2013/4.  Thank you to the children in 3rd and 4th class in Our Lady of Lourdes NS, Bunclody and their teachers, Sarah O Rourke and Lisa Brennan. This 15-week collaborative programme facilitated five artists to work with chosen schools in County Wexford. The programme also supported the artist in their studio by means of teaching fee as well as a professional mentor.  I am very grateful to RHA Director, Patrick Murphy for mentoring me through the programme and for his continuing and invaluable advice and support.   The programme culminated in a curated exhibtion of both the artists' and the children's work in Wexford Arts Centre in April 2014. The Living Art Project is funded through Wexford County Council and The Arts Council of Ireland and is administrated by Wexford Arts Centre.

I brought my work into the classroom for the children to see... and touch!
